I am hoping to see some rlleay awesome chess games at this year’s British Chess Championship. Although I shall be unable to watch every single live broadcast, I shall definitely study the games carefully. There is nothing I like better than an epic battle of wits between expert chess players.

Wallpaper is Live  give our studio a call to secure your children represent your family in our Wallpaper Exhibition.  08 87255550

The Limestone Coast’s forestry debate has been given a human face, with the launch of a unique project designed to highlight the extent to which the timber industry is entwined in our everyday lives.

Wallpaper is a collection of images featuring local children and families captured with elements of paper or wood. Mount Gambier-based photographer Tanya Ewen (formerly O’leary) says it’s a way of injecting light into local communities and celebrating the strength of South East families.

“The region has been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride for the last few years, and there is a general fear of what is around the corner regarding the forward sale of our forestry assets, but we’re also seeing a strong degree of country resilience and optimism, and that is what I’m trying to capture,” Tanya explains. The Wallpaper project will reflect the unique charm and personality of individual participants while featuring a range of props from paper butterflies to towering trees. “It may be really obvious or it may be really subtle – either way, it’s designed to illustrate the fact that both paper and wood underpin life in the South East of SA,” Tanya says.

Wallpaper will culminate in a two-week photographic exhibition at Mount Gambier’s Little Goat Gallery. The exhibition, which will be launched with a cocktail party on 19th October, will feature wall displays printed on an exquisite range of cotton rag paper now available at ‘The Tanya Way Photography Studio’ (formerly Tanya O’Leary Photography). Images of every participant will also be beamed onto gallery walls during a slideshow.

Participating families are being asked to pay a one-off $25 fee to be involved, and all profits will be donated to their nominated school, kindergarten, childcare centre or charity. Photography must be completed by October 1, 2012, and images will be available for individual purchase.

“It’s a really exciting project for me as a photographer, allowing me to test my creativity while also highlighting an important issue that affects us all, and the response so far from families has been fantastic – this project really resonates with people in this region,” Tanya says.

August 30th where has the year gone?  Just a really quick chat  with a super cool post.  Amelia and Jeremy thank you for sharing your three little men you know how much I adored photographing your beautiful family they are the coolest little kids so much fun with loads of free spirit.

Thank you to Jacinta, Jess and the girls at St Martins for my beautiful flowers I am looking forward to sharing your images very soon check back soon to enjoy.

I was asked today at my gray st studio “How does it feel knowing that you have created all these amazing images” and I must say, “I am truly humble”.  I do what I do because I love it so much and yes I earn an income and employ two other staff along with supporting my three children, However my business is here for you to receive emotive, inspiring, gorgeous imagery. It is, what it is today, due to all the different people that I have met that value what I can create for their families to enjoy for a lifetime.  Photography is my passion and I am grateful everyday that I can give the gift of photography to so many people.

lots of hugs Tanya

OMG you have had tophoto overload right?  Three posts in a matter of days what is going on?  Well the peer pressure just became to much to handle.  Just kidding I have felt that it was time to have more presence and share more of what I have been doing.  I apologize now as I am trying to upload many more shoots and I would be around seventy to ninety people behind.  “OMG” I hear you say where do I fit all these photo sessions in.  I will do my best to load everyone that I have photographed in the last six months on my little journal over the next few months if that makes sense.  Keeping very busy and loving that thrill and honor that people invite me into their lives to create pieces of art for their homes.    I do get butterflies  with every shoot that I am invited to do still to this day.  But it keeps me wanting to create more and I feel I am producing some of the best work that I can ever have dreamed of.  My new shooting studio is amazing a little old church.  In fact it is  one of the oldest buildings in Mount Gambier we have been having so much fun creating new imagery and trying new things.  If you would like to be part of the tanya o’leary photography journal we would love to hear from you.  our number is 08 87 255550

For now this is little Allegra isn’t she just to die for!
